How Smencils Are Made:
We roll sheets of newspaper tightly around the
#2 graphite writing cores until pencils of typical thickness are formed. The rolled pencils are then hardened - allowing them
to be sharpened just like wood pencils. You can even see the layers caused by the newsprint:
Because newspaper is an absorbent material, the
pencils are soaked with our gourmet liquid scents (made by an award winning fragrance company) which absorb into the layers
of newspaper.
Once they've dried, the erasers are applied along
with the stickers identifying which scent was infused into each Smencil.
Then, each Smencil is put into its own Freshness
Tube to guaranteed that the scents will last for 2-years.
